Drowning the Mouth Breathers was conceived as an installation for the AC Institute in NYC. I have a deathly fear of drowning and thought that I should extend that fear to the Mouth Breathers. The installation features small screens in plastic bags full of mineral oil, which are fixed to the wall. On the screens the Mouth Breathers struggle to breath and are endlessly flailing to catch their breath. The audio for this installation features a single breath extended to 45 minutes and are played back through still images of the Mouth Breathers, placed next to the videos of them drowning.
